Greetings to You, Dear Reader.

We are Tony & Tess, both part of the Member Relations department here at Sonicbids. Some of you may already be familiar with us (you may have even spoken to us on the phone), but since we have this spiffy new SonicBlog, we thought a more formal introduction would be appropriate. We both went to school for audio production and recording technology, and we both enjoy painting and are obsessed with all things music.  However, Tess went more toward the business side of things—with experience in radio and band promotion—while Tony went into live performance and media production.  Naturally, we ended up together here at Sonicbids.

For now, we’d like to give you a look into our typical day here, so you can see exactly what we do to help you and make sure Sonicbids continues to be a valuable resource in your music career.  First and foremost, we talk with bands and promoters constantly.  In fact, we are an inseparable team who combine like Voltron to form a question-answering machine.

We work with the rest of the Member Relations team to make sure all of the questions that come to us at Sonicbids.com/support are answered within 24 hours.  If you’re a band, we pick up the phone and offer suggestions on how to put together your EPK.  If you’re a promoter, we assist you with your gig listing to find the right bands.  We interview industry professionals and write educational articles for the Lounge. And we now blog and give you insight to the wonderful world of Sonicbids.

We aren’t the only ones answering questions.  We have a small team including Mike and Brandon, who we love working with. (Mike really loves working with us too):

You can follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/sonicbidstess and www.twitter.com/sonicbidstony where we tweet regular updates on what we’re up to. You can also find us around the Sonicbids Lounge and maybe even in the outside world. (We’ll both be stopping by Boston’s Rock~n~Roll Social on Tuesday 8/12 at the Model Café to meet community members in-person.)

That’s all for now; you’ll be hearing much more from us soon.

Love,

Tony & Tess

Hey John,

Thanks man, there is no Tony and Tess combined myspace page. But Sonicbids has one. Me and Tess may make one later on but only time will tell. Well see if we can keep our cheesy humor going strong…:)

Hi
I am very glad to meet you both. This is my first participation in sonicbids blog,I have also have not phoned in too much either, to let you guys know about me.
As owner and producer of Banana Peel Radio, in Vancouver Canada,
I was involved in the music business in Montreal Canada for 16 years in retail and wholesale for what was know as Sam The Record Man which was at it’s time for over 72 years Canada’s leading Record Store for those who were around in Canada at the time the Store existed.
I worked as the Assistant manager in the warehouse division and was the head of the distribution for all the Quebec and Montral Franchises, I later become involved with CARAS the Canadian Academy of Arts & Sciences which are the legal and voting end of the Canadian Juno Awards, my brother inlaw was the Eastern Canadian VP Of Sam the Record Man as he was the nephew of Sam Sniederman the founder Of Sam the Record Man.
My Sister was in advertising and the buyer who dealt directly with the sales reps and the Record Company executives. From all this in house and in the family knowledge of the business this is how i got my start, also supporting a philosphy degree from Montreal’s Concordia University in which while there I participated in College Radio on the legal team which at the time was fighting for a spot on FM against Mcgill University Radio which narrowly convinced the CRTC for the right of airplay now know in the indie charts as CKUT.
So since I developped a heart for new materaial and new artists, after becoming a web master in later study after university with a knowledge of flash and teaching myself audio software and pro tools I developped Banana Peel Radio
as I was an admirer of the late John peel and the way he with dignity he supported the artists, in which this is my goal,as I believe that in order to make a difference in this world is to do something worthwhile in a human way to show that you are doing something to make this world a better place, and I hope to continue with this goal at banana peel radio to do what ever I can to help the musician get some recognition.

All the Best
Peace & Love From Canada
